How to Help

Philanthropy In Action

Throughout the years, the spirit of giving has been an important cornerstone of The Help Group. The philanthropic support of individuals, corporations and foundations has enabled us to open the doors of opportunity to many thousands of children and families. In supporting the important work of The Help Group you can touch the lives of children with special needs in very direct and meaningful ways.

Your philanthropic participation in any one or more of the following ways would be most appreciated:

  • Charitable Contributions - Monetary gifts for general support or for a particular program can be made in the form of checks, bank transfers or charges to credit cards.

  • Capital Campaign Gifts - For information regarding giving opportunities, please call 818.779.5212.

  • Planned Giving - Charitable remainder trusts, life insurance and bequests are types of Planned Giving that are avenues for large donations qualifying for substantial tax benefits.

  • Gifts of Appreciated Security and Real Estate - These types of donations enable the donor to make a sizeable gift that may qualify for appreciable tax benefits.

  • Employee Matching Programs - Many companies have a philanthropic program in place that matches, in whole or in part, gifts given by employees to the non-profit tax-exempt organization of the employee's choice. The human resources department of your company can advise you if this program exists and if so, of the criteria and requirements.

  • Fundraising Events - The Help Group hosts three major fund raising events annually. These events include: The Teddy Bear Picnic / Annual The Spring Luncheon, The Teddy Bear Ball / Black Tie Gala and The Keyes - European, Mercedes Benz Golf Classic. These events are a great success each year due to the enthusiastic support of our community of friends.

  • In-Kind Support - The Help Group welcomes the donations of goods and services. In-Kind support encompasses a wide range of non-monetary giving opportunities such as computer hardware, software and consultation, equipment and supplies, graphic design and printing to name just a few.

  • Tribute Program - To mark special occasions or to honor the memory of a loved one or friend, you may consider making a donation to our Tribute Program. Upon your request, The Help Group will send an acknowledgement of your gift (amount will not be disclosed, except by request) to the designated person/persons and/or organization.
