A cornerstone of Advance LA’s mission is helping young adults with special needs achieve greater independence through meaningful employment. In support of this mission, Advance LA recently began a collaborative partnership to support our clients with employment opportunities at UCLA.

The Advance LA coach’s role is to advocate for their clients to enter the candidate pool and provide them with tools and skills to navigate the interview and hiring process – including building a resume and practicing through mock job interviews – to ensure the client is prepared and confident.

Once a client successfully completes the interview process, we assist in matching them with an open position at UCLA that fits their skills and interests. Many of the positions offer opportunities for growth, and clients continue to receive on-the-job coaching after starting their new position to ensure enjoyable and sustainable employment.
